About

My commitment is

to lead you toward clarity

and the life you want,

with an action plan to take charge.

As a psychotherapist with more than 30 years of experience and over 10,000 hours of client therapy sessions, I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate transitions in their lives. Whether change comes as a surprise or is sought out and celebrated, the task of adjusting to it can be overwhelming and complex.

What I offer is an experienced and compassionate approach to examining your situation, to provide you guidance to move forward and transform.

In addition to my professional training as a licensed counselor, I also bring a range of business experience to my practice. Previously, I held an executive position at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital, and my previous appointments have varied from directing screening services for a mental health center to managing human resources for the executive groups at Cummins Engine Corporation.

In short, I understand what it’s like to be a high-level professional and a person dealing with personal challenges. Your stresses aren’t just theoretical for me – I’ve lived them too. I have dealt with the death of my father at an early age, the death of my wife to breast cancer, single parenting two children, a second marriage, the blending of two families, and a recent divorce. I have an Ed.D. in counseling psychology, and I also have successfully navigated a number of tough transitions.

What I consistently hear from clients is, “No one else has understood me like you do,” and I believe that’s because I’ve experienced similar situations and transitions. I’m ready to serve as your guide, not only because I possess the professional tools, but also because I know this terrain and can speak frankly about what’s ahead.

My commitment is to lead you toward clarity and the life you want, with an action plan to take charge. Change is inevitable, but it can also be rewarding and even exhilarating.
